A day at the zoo!

Zebras, Giraffes, and leaves oh my.  W and I are no strangers to the zoo.  I am pretty sure we wore out our membership in the first few months, but it was a special day at the zoo.  Not only was it 65 degrees on an October day in Chicago, it was Tyler's first visit ever to Brookfield zoo.

Watching my cousins kids three days a week has brought a lot of new experiences our way, and I would be lying if I said that we did not need an adventure from time to time to break up the days.  Sometimes it is just safer to take two toddler boys out of an environment where sharing means caring and bring them to a place where they can expel some serious energy.

So with that in mind, we bundled up the boys, hit up the drive thru at Dunkin, and hit the road to visit all of our furry friends.  Despite the excitement of the rhinos and bears, the real fun came when we set free the animals W and L in a field of freshly fallen fall colored leaves.  I truly believe the boys would have thrown leaves in the air for hours if they had not spotted the park a few yards away.  After a few trips down the slide and a spin through the gift shop, we said farewell.  Another successful outing if I do say so myself.  I mean, c'mon, look at those two characters!  So cute!

Something new to occupy my time

In light of my not so mother in law, mother in law's generosity I have had the privilege of becoming the owner of a, new to me, Canon Rebel camera.  After a few months of practice chasing my toddler around attempting to capture all of our memories I finally feel like I am getting somewhat of a handle on things.  This blog is part mommy daily blessings and part our adventures, but mostly an outlet for the hundreds of photos ranging from an outing at the zoo to crackers shaped like animals at the zoo.  I just want to thank everyone in advance for tolerating my incessant photo taking and taking part in all of our precious moments.  Happy reading!
