Somewhere between midterms and finals: a recap

There was a lot that happened from March till May besides exams that I missed because my camera was no where to be found... or perhaps because in most cases I could only be found behind a book.  Luckily there was still storage on my iPhone so there is proof that I was social on at least 3 occasions.

Happy Birthday Baby Bear!

Over the weekend, W and I were lucky enough to celebrate Baby Bear's 2nd birthday!  We took that Chuck E. Cheese by storm (once we showed up at the right location).  The kids were not a fan of Chuck E, but everyone LOVED the homemade Monster Inc cupcakes and cake.  Thank you so much for having us!  I cannot believe how big our little men are getting, but it has been such a joy watching them grow and become friends!  Happy Birthday, Baby Bear!

Preschool Projects

Some of you may already know this, but painting, be it finger painting, pumpkin painting, watercolors, you name it, gives me quite serious anxiety.  Therefore, I am pretty sure preschool must seem like Christmas for W, what with it being highly encouraged and no one telling him to wash his brush or watch the table for paint splatter.

It has been really exciting to see all the different things he is learning and what he enjoys about school.  These are just a few of the crafts that W has made so far in school.

Send A Hug!

This year for Valentine's Day we decided to go the homemade route.  It has been a little while since we have done a craft at home.  W has been making so many things at school that all of our crafts have been consolidated to coloring at the craft table.

We cut off about 3 feet of paper from our paper roll and spread it out on the living room floor.  With his arms stretched out to his sides, I traced his outline (including the fingers individually) and then W got to decorate as he saw fit.

Once he was done, I merely cut out the paper.  If you hold the paper up and wrap the arms around you, you have a mail delivered hug!  Perfect for long distance family or friends!

This is a pretty simple project to do as long as you have the paper.  Our paper roll was purchased at Land of Nod.  Hope everyone had a lovely Valentine's Day!  What are some of your favorite Valentine's Day crafts?
